Did you know UV lamps could potentially be used to clean airplane lavatories? Boeing recently obtained a patent and unveiled a prototype of a self-cleaning lavatory that uses UV light to disinfect all surfaces. This technology would be able to kill 99.9% of germs after three seconds of UV light exposure. Along with touchless faucet and soap dispensers, this development could lead to more hygienic airplane lavatories. Similar technology is already being used in other cleaning applications like UV robots used in hospital, emergency water treatment, and more.
