Bus Disinfection Using UV
Following guidelines put in place by National Health Organization, Yanggao, a public transportation company in Shanghai, China has started using UV lighting to sterilize the interior and exterior of their buses. This process takes approximately 5-7 minutes per bus and with two cleaning bays with 210 UV lamps in each, they are disinfecting about 250 buses per day. This process is controlled remotely and kills up to 99.9% of viruses.
This application is added to the long list of UV disinfection processes like medical facilities, banks/currency, and airports/airplanes.
