  1. UV in the Optical Media Industry

Did you know UV lamps are used throughout the process of manufacturing discs including bonding, printing, and coating CD’s and DVD’s? UV lamps are first used to bond the layers of the discs together. Then, if any design or label is added to the topside of the disc, UV lamps are used to cure the ink or coating. A UV coating is also added to the bottom-side of the disc to reduce abrasions and scratches. UV lamps may also be used in the production process to create the cases and packaging for discs.

  7. We Can Help You Identify Your Lamp!

    • Looking for a competitive quote for your UV lamps?
    • Trouble finding your UV lamp part numbers?
    • No time to look for your lamp part numbers but have some used lamps lying around?

If you answered yes to any of these questions we can help you!!

Try looking for any information etched on the lamp, in the user manual, or on old packaging.  You can also fill in one of our ID SHEETS with any physical and electric information you have.  Once we have the part number we will be able to do the rest!

While we do have an extensive cross reference database, there may be a chance we will need a sample lamp if you do not have a part number available or if it is not in our system yet.

Requesting a sample lamp is a simple process that ensures we are able to determine the exact specifications of your lamp in order to make it for you.  While a new lamp would be ideal, we can get the information we need from a used lamp, as long as it still fires up.

Before safely packing up your sample lamp, if possible please complete a SAMPLE IDENTIFICATION FORM and enclose it in the box with the lamp.  We also recommend taking extra precaution to pack the lamp safely to ensure it arrives to us in one piece.

If you have the time – feel free to send us an email with the tracking number as well.  This will help us to plan in advance to ensure your lamp gets reviewed ASAP.

We look forward to assisting you with your replacement lamp needs and will keep you updated throughout the process.  The average time for samples to be processed is 3 weeks.  Along with the standard lead time of 3-4 weeks for lamps that need to be made we ask that if you have an urgent need to please let us know and we will do our best to expedite the process.
